Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician

GMX is actively seeking a highly motivated, customer-orientated Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician to join our growing team focused on safety, service, and operations. 

The Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician is responsible for overseeing and performing aircraft maintenance, inspection, repair, and alteration tasks. This role requires strong technical knowledge, leadership abilities, and a commitment to quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. The Lead AMT will coordinate closely with the Maintenance Manager and other departments to ensure timely and accurate project execution.

Essential Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Perform mechanical tasks on aircraft and related systems, including component removal/installation, structural repairs, and system troubleshooting.
  • Inspect, test, repair, and service aircraft and engine systems to ensure readiness for flight.
  • Conduct airworthiness inspections (pre-flight and post-flight) and perform corrective actions as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and evaluate aircraft systems and components when designated.
  • Use precision tools and instruments to measure part wear and determine serviceability.
  • Lead and supervise a team of technicians in daily operations and project execution, ensuring adherence to schedules, on time delivery, and quality standards.
  • Assist in project management, pricing, and customer support functions with the Maintenance Manager.
  • Maintain maintenance logs and work orders in accordance with 14 CFR Part 43 and applicable operator or air carrier manuals.
  • Ensure the maintenance and upkeep of the shop facility, equipment, and tooling.
  • Coordinate and assist with training and development of team members.
  • Maintain the highest level of quality, safety, and integrity in all work performed.
  • Execute additional duties as assigned by management.

Job Requirements:

  • Must hold a current valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant License (A&P) with no history of infractions.
  • Minimum of three to five years of aircraft maintenance experience on complex jet powered aircraft with military, airline, or certificated repair station background. Gulfstream experience helpful.
  • Ability to work with little supervision to troubleshoot and repair systems on aircraft airframe and engine(s), including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic.
  • Must be able to read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals and specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
  • Must live in close proximity to Allentown, PA.
  • Able to pass background check/drug & alcohol test.
  • Must be able to work any shift, days, nights, and weekends.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to reach, bend, twist, squat, climb ladders, stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.
